"Morris County Sheriff's
CrimeStoppers" is a program
designed to encourage cooperation
between the citizenry and the law
enforcement community. It offers
the citizens of Morris County
direct and easy access to their law
enforcement community and incentive
in the form of anonymity and
reward.

Citizens who have information
relating to crimes, criminal
activity or wanted persons
(fugitives) can call a 24 hour
telephone phone, (973)COP-CALL or
1-800 SHERIFF. Their information
will be taken by a
"CrimeStoppers" operator
and forwarded to the proper law
enforcement agency.

When a person calls
"CrimeStoppers" they are
assigned a confidential code
number, which becomes their only
identity. At no time will anyone
ask their name.

After the caller has been given
their confidential code number,
they are asked to call back at a
future date identifying themselves
by their code number only. Again,
no name will be asked. When
a person becomes eligible for a
reward, all arrangements to receive
it are made through the use of
their code number as the only means
of identification necessary to
collect the money, which is paid in
cash.

"CrimeStoppers" is
administered by a volunteer
