10004 - Graffiti, Denville

 


The Denville Police Department is investigating a graffiti / criminal mischief incident which took place at Morris Knolls High School. A cement wall on the school was spray painted along with a concrete block retaining wall. Several street signs as well as the Morris Knolls High School sign on Franklin Avenue were spray painted as well. Furthermore, the stainless steel lettering secured in a landscaped section of ground which spelled out "Morris Knolls High School" was damaged and bent.

10003 - Arson, Morristown

 


On Saturday, May 29, 2010 at approximately 12:42AM, The Morristown Police and Fire Departments responded to a fire at 271 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, NJ. Members of the Morristown Police and Fire Departments assisted in evacuating numerous residents from the building.

The investigation revealed that the fire was caused by an intentional act of arson. The fire caused damage to the boarding house and displaced the occupants.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the Morristown Bureau of Police are asking the public’s help in solving this crime. 10002 - Cemetery vase theft, East Hanover

 

The East Hanover Police Department is investigating stolen cemetery vases from family member plots at Gates of Heaven and Restland Cemetery in East Hanover. Since the fall of 2009, multiple victims have reported bronze or brass cemetery vases stolen from their family member plots. The replacement cost is approx. $300.00 to $350.00 a piece. Police believe the vases are being sold as scrap. On 5/17/06, East Hanover Police Department received a report of 6 vases being stolen from Restland. The management at the cemeteries report that this has been an ongoing occurrence over the years. Management believes that over a 100 vases have been stolen from their cemetery since the fall of 2009. Most of the thefts have not been reported to our Police Department. Some of the vases were secured by metal chains that were cut in order to commit the thefts. 10001 - Bomb threats at Morris Knolls High School, Denville

IT IS A THIRD DEGREE CRIME TO CAUSE A FALSE PUBLIC ALARM

The Denville Police Department has investigated a series of bomb threats to Morris Knolls High School within the school year. So far, all of these threats have been proven to be false. The investigation of these matters sends a heightened sense of alarm to everyone associated with the school and greatly disrupts the education process. If anyone has information to offer about any previous bomb threat which could benefit one of these Police investigations, they should contact the Morris County CrimeStoppers. You could receive a reward of up to $1000.00 for information leading to an arrest of a suspect who has made one of these false bomb threats in the past.

9022 - Criminal Mischief, Madison

 




Madison Police are investigating a report of graffiti at 30 Myrtle Ave on the restroom building at Lucy D Field. The graffiti was on the north side of the building facing Myrtle Ave. On the east side of the building was a large marijuana leaf with “420” above it painted in black.
