9015 - Theft, Madison
Madison PD is investigating the theft of $2785.00 worth of textbooks that were stolen from the Drew University Bookstore. The theft occurred on 09/09/2009 between the hours of 1030 hours and 1530 hours. The stolen textbooks include “Fundamentals of Corporate Finance” (9 copies) and International Economics (5 copies). In the course of stealing the books, the actor removed the electronic security stickers. Anyone with information is asked to contact Morris County CrimeStoppers or Det. 9014 - Car Burglaries, Mendham
The Morris County Park Police are asking for help from the public to catch a burglar who has hit numerous cars parked along the popular Patriots Path hiking trails, pocketing more than $1,000 in cash since the spree began in July.
The Park Police are working with Detectives from Mendham, Harding, Morris and Chatham Townships as well as Madison, Morristown Detectives and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office to snare the car burglar, who strikes primarily during the daytime, Park Police Chief Bill Huyler said.
Besides trying to catch the burglar, authorities are also warning people who visit the park system to keep their wallets, purses and possessions locked in their trunks prior to venturing out into the woods or on the path. Authorities are also asking visitors to report any suspicious activity, Chief Huyler added.
