6029 - School Vandalism, Montville Township
On 9-17-06 at 0119 hours, Montville Police Department responded to Montville High School, located at 100 Horseneck Road for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, police observed graffiti on the doors of the band room entrance. Further investigation revealed the actors spray painted musical instruments, blackboards, chairs, music stands, photos, tape recorders, electrical boxes and the main fuse box in the hallway. The graffiti was done in white spray paint. A fire extinguisher was also removed and used on the equipment in the kitchen. K - 9 and CIS Units from the Morris County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Montville Police ask anyone with information to please contact them at (973)334-2730. 6028 - Morristown Shootings
Three incidents of violent crimes are being investigated by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morristown Bureau of Police, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigative Section. These are as follows:
On Thursday, May 25, 2006 at approximately 1:50 a.m., Morristown Police responded to a 911 call on Lincoln Street in Morristown, New Jersey. Upon arrival, police found the victim, a black male, age 23, sitting in a parked vehicle in front of 14 Lincoln Street. He was bleeding from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen area. He was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On August 14, 2006, at approximately 11:54 p.m., Morristown Police responded to a shooting which occurred in the area of Linden Street, Morristown, New Jersey. Upon arrival, police determined that a 26 year old male victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, August 31, 2006, at approximately 9:46 p.m., Morristown Police responded to a report of a fight at a gathering on Hazel Street. Upon arrival, police determined that a 26 year old male victim had been stabbed. He was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigative leads are currently being pursued and contact from the community has been helpful.

6027- Car Thefts in Butler
The Borough of Butler has had a number of car thefts in the past month.
On 8-17-06 a 200 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a Ridge Rd. residence. This vehicle was later recovered in Lake Edenwold.
On 8-22-06 a 1994 Ford Taurus stolen from a Belleview Ave. residence. This vehicle was later recovered in a Rt. 23 business parking lot.
On 8-29-06 a 1994 GMC pick up truck was stolen in Bloomindale and was later recovered at the NJ Transit Park & Ride lot on Rt. 23
On 8-31-06 a 1997 Ford Explorer was stolen from a Marion Ave. residence. This vehicle was later recovered in Kinnelon Ridge Condominium complex on Maple Lake Rd. Addtionally a Marion Ave. resident reported two vehicles in their driveway had been entered and were possibly also attempted to be stolen.
On 9-4-06 a 1994 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a kiel Ave. residence.
Later in the day on 9-4-06 a resident on Outlook St. reported criminal mischief to their 2005 Subaru. Police found that there were numerous scratches and grooves in the hood and front bumper.
Police are urging people to lock their car doors to try and deter the thefts and are asking that anyone with any information please call.
The thefts may be related since they have been stolen and found in the same vicinity.

6026 - Shooting in Morristown
On Tuesday August 15, 2006 at 12:12am the Morristown Police Department responded to 33 Linden St. to investigate a reported gun shot wound. When police arrived they found out that a disturbance in the street between several black males moved to the backyard of 33 Linden St. where a victim was shot. Several black males then fled on foot and left the area in a blue van.
