# 3002 - 03/04/02 Denville, NJ - Suspicious Death
The Denville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office are searching for clues in the suspicious death of a young lady found in Denville Township. This crime has been targeted as CrimeStoppers "Crime of the Week".
On Monday, March 4th, 2002, the unidentified remains of a female were discovered in Denville, New Jersey. She was later identified as Alejandria "Gigi" Villafane of the Village of Mamaroneck, New York.
Gigi was last seen alive on Sunday, August 26, 2001 at approximately 2:30 AM in the 300 block of Mamaroneck Ave., (Mamaroneck, NY). She was entering a small red colored vehicle that was occupied by 3 to 4 unidentified Hispanic females. Gigi was also seen around that time frame entering a taxicab at the Mamaroneck Train Station. She was last seen wearing a dark colored mini-skirt with thong underwear underneath, a blue halter-top and black three-inch high heels.
Gigi often frequented the Washington Heights sections of Manhattan, NY. And it is believed that she may have been attempting to obtain a ride to that area when she disappeared.
