On Wednesday, January, 24, 2007 at approximately 1515 hours Newark Police were dispatched to the intersection of Shaw Ave and Leslie St for a shooting in progress. Upon arrival a Mr. Oliver Ballentine was found unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mr Ballentine was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1552 hours. A Ms. Stephanie Schroeder was found on the ground next to the Jeep Cherokee. She was also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to UMDNJ Hospital and treated for her injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
